Then there is the "rent to own" scam. That is just a way to get more rent than the home is worth. The pitch is trick you into paying more per month because you are going to own the home. The only way this will be true is with a real honest sale where you get a deed and a legitimate mortgage. Most scams never issue a deed. They just tell you some of the rents will go towards purchasing the property.
